Update

I haven't written in here in forever. Hmmm got to try to recap on important events.

I turned 18 last Sunday. Stayed at a hotel. The room had a jacuzzi. It was nice, nothing too intense but still nice. Got DDR for an early birthday present. It's pretty intense and a bit addicting haha.

It's funny though but on my birthday I looked at myself in the mirror and I swore I looked a little older. I'm sure it was just me though.

Next friday/saturday is when I take the test for the big scholarship to MSU. Technically I take the test on Saturday but there's so many seminars and stuff and I'm spending the night at the Kellog's Center to avoid having to get up super early Saturday morning. I'm a bit excited but also pretty nerved since I don't know what to expect at all. I'm a bit nervous about the test too. It sounds pretty much like the test from hell with pretty much every basic subject known to man on it though I'm really only nervous about the social studies and humanities portions (if I remembered them right).

Second semester started this past Tuesday. Pretty exciting. Now I've got Government, Band, Independent Study with Norman (my rest hour), Calculus and then Physics. Yeah. All that and all I want to do pretty much is graduate haha. Oh well.

Practicing in a sax quartet for Solo & Ensemble. Haven't really been able to get together. That's weekend after next.

Practicing for little play. Already have my line's memorized since I'm in the play for about 5 seconds. Disregarding that and I'm wearing the dress of the other ugly stepsister from last year's play, I get to wear a black tiara which is going to be sweet haha.

Other than that I've just been spending nights at home watching Mythbusters and Dirty Jobs, playing DDR, and trying to listen to bands I haven't before.

I'M A SPARTAN

I really don't have much to say except that I'm now officially a Spartan!!

That's right. I am now linder11 haha.

I also got invited to complete in the Alumni Distinguished Scholarship (the same one Tom won). All I have to do is take this humongous test. Sounds like f-u-n..

Oh and the whole Mistletoe getting moved to this weekend due to the lack of power at the school last saturday...LAME. I still say we should have brough glow sticks, portable black lights and turned it into a rave haha.

Well it wouldn't have been so bad had this weekend not been the weekend Staci, Candace, Crystal and I were supposed to go to Michigan to play with their marching band. I am peeved because it would be a great opportunity but eh, it's still Michigan so I'm going to go to Mistletoe and go out to eat instead.

Other than that I'm getting tired of a lot of people in our grade, thankfully none of them my friends. I'm tired of my classes too but really I'm probably just tired of school. Little play needs to start now because I miss it so. I'm really enjoying the things we're doing in art and sometime now I think I might actually be thinking like an artist...sorta. Either case I seem to have gotten better haha (well except at watercolors but that's something I plan on taking classes on later in life).

I really wish my weekends were like twice as long. I'm almost tempted to get up early (for me) next weekend in hopes of having time to do everything but I'll probably just sleep in anyways because that's how I do haha.

Pick a letter, any letter

So there's not much to say.

The things that have to be getting done are getting done.

Some of the things that need to be getting done are getting done.

I check everyday online to see if there's any change in the status of my application to State... There is none but far as I know they've got everything so I just have to wait to "be discovered" I guess haha.

Volleyball practices/tryouts kinda start on Thursday.

I'm reading all of the Ender's series one-by-one.

Went to the doctor's last Friday. Got vaccinated for chicken pox again. It was all good though because I didn't even feel it. I'd take a shot instead of giving blood anyday.

Saw Stranger than Fiction. Interesting. Wouldn't buy it but wouldn't pass up seeing it again sometime down the road.

Due to speech I've pretty much got Dr. Seuss's ABC book memorized. Our next speech is to read a children's book and we have to be "familiar" with it which in my case, due to the fact that it was pretty much my favorite book for most of my childhood so once I read through it 2 or 3 times most of it came back, I can pretty much recite any part of the book. It's fun to ask people to give me letters and recite Dr. Seuss to them.

It's kind of sad to think that all the super memory of my childhood years (the time its best to teach a second language because of the memory retention) was wasted on Disney songs, wee-sings/sing-a-longs, and Dr. Seuss books...

Woulda, coulda, shoulda?

I definetly had a weird dream last night (and just for the record I blame you Christopher haha). I was at Randle's cottage and for some odd reason they had a hot tub. I needed to take a bath and they said I could take it in there so I get in and am about to soap up and stuff when this other chick, Todd and Randle all hop right in the hot tub. I didn't want to soap up and everything right in front of them, though apparently the girl had nothing against doing so and started to take a bath too, so I got out. Then next thing I know, I no longer have my bathing suit on and am walking around wrapped in a towel trying to find something to wear. I finally find my suit and get back into the hot tub except this time David is in there with a different girl. So I'm just sitting there when David starts talking to me about a guy I had previously liked. He told me that I could have done something. I asked him what he meant and he told me that I didn't just have to pretend I had no feelings that I could have done something. I told him that he made no intention of liking me that way and looked what happened anyway but he just replied back that I could have done something in that way that makes you think he knows something you don't.

So yeah, weird. Had the normal weird Erin dream factors but also had a little something extra thrown in there.

Other than that I've pretty much got nothing. Just finishing up the last of the catching up at school. Fun for me.

Fear the Deer! (clan)

So I survived 5th grade camp. It was great though the last day was hell. Nerves were at their end, the kids weren't listening since it was the last day...yeah I definetly ended up yelling at my kids.

All in all definetly a memorable experience. I'd do it again in a heart beat, well minus the sucktastic Where's Waldo hiding spot that I'm pretty sure did bruise some ribs, fun story about that. Oh and the orienteering/map reading the last day.

I wish I could go through all the stories on here but it would take far too long, you're sure to hear them in person next time I see you anyways. But just to list a few of the more memorable moments:

* Nate actually jumping into the lake
* the Yoda victory dance
* getting up at 5:30 to run around at 6 to all the cabins, banging on doors while Nate did the most horrid pig squeal to wake the kids up
* Nate and Kenny's story how they scared a kid so bad he cried with Nate's pig squeal
* Jacob holding Ronnie's hand
* is your milk racist?
* and just because I say so, Alex because he was the cutest little kid EVER.

I definetly finished my MSU application Sunday so mad props to me (god I can be such a horrible procrastinator). It did kind of work out though since I was able to factor camp into my personal statement.

Now it's time for a fun story. Yesterday we discovered a lump on Little Man's leg. Weren't sure what it was until it popped, yeah, turned out it was an infected cut/bite of some sort. We had to take him to the vet today for antibiotics. No biggie except it stank so horribly and was sick. Like I said, fun story.

Anywho, off to trying to catch up on homework woo woo!
